Thank you for you interest in Haven Scent! We are a family business that came into being through our increasing awareness of the harm
chemical additives have on our bodies and the environment and the lack
of genuine, healthy skin care products available on retail shelves. With
the increase of consumer awareness and the turn towards a more natural
product the terms “Natural & Organic” have become nothing more than
marketing tools. In Australia, there are no Standards for
Skincare & Cosmetics, allowing for differing opinions of what “Pure
& Natural” could mean. For this reason, we believe products falling
under the banner of “All Natural” are misleading to consumers. To
make the Pure, Natural & even Organic claim, you only need to add
one complying ingredient. As a result, we are seeing products labeled
Pure, Natural & even Organic with a major content of non-toxic, but
lifeless ‘plant-derived’ emollients, fillers & modifiers, to which
Natural Botanical ingredients are added, minimally. We are seeing
products labeled “Pure, Natural & Organic” containing ingredients
that research has shown to be accumulatively toxic. To ensure
that the product you are purchasing is of the quality you are expecting
it is imperative that you read the full ingredient listing to determine
the product’s true worth. The following extract from the New York Times depicts beautifully the controversy regarding natural products.

The New York Times Sunday May 18, 2003 The other night I served an organic pasta sauce and washed my face with an organic cleanser. The sauce was made from tomatoes and other farm ingredients, all certified organic under strict federal guidelines. The facial cleanser featured a handful of synthetic and chemical ingredients, including some that ecological activists have questioned as possibly harmful to users or the environment. Both products came from the same store and promised the same organic quality. But in each case the word organic described a different set of standards. …. The cleanser I used, selected at a local health food store, is made by a major natural products manufacturer. Its components are used in a range of shampoos, conditioners, scrubs, lotions and lip balms labeled as organic by numerous manufacturers…….……. |

Our
skin food line of products offers an integral, wholistic skin care diet
that will hydrate, nourish and protect the skin, promote healthy skin
cell regeneration resulting in a more youthful, healthy appearance. - We
have studied the principals of Aromatherapy and utilise their
beneficial properties. Essential oils not only provide a pleasing
aroma, they stimulate skin cells into reproducing at a quicker rate.
Skin that has been treated with essential oils thus becomes more
dynamic and stronger. They improve circulation and feed the dermis with
nutrients to encourage production of healthy new skin cells. We have
chosen essential oils beneficial to differing skin types and conditions.
-
We have adopted the principals of Herbology to incorporate the
soothing, healing & regenerative powers of herbs. Again we have
chosen herbs beneficial to differing skin types and conditions to
promote healthy skin cell regeneration. Herbal extracts come in varying
forms and potencies, from floral waters to tinctures. We have chosen
Certified Organic Homeopathic Herbal Tinctures, for their purity and
potency.
- We include the super anti-oxidant Certified
organic Olive Leaf extract, 25 times more effective than Vitamin E in
protecting cells and their DNA from free radical damage (the most
common cause of skin ageing).
- We blend wholesome,
organically grown botanicals, rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins,
minerals, emollients and essential fatty acids. This provides
nourishment, protection and ultimate hydration for the skin
